Holiday program Volunteer responsibilities

Adult volunteers will assist in conducting an educational holiday program for youth. Efforts are directed toward personal development emphasizing clear and creative thinking, good health habits, responsibility to others, establishing a basic set of values and goals. Volunteering involves listening, sharing, guiding and advising youth . Volunteers need to assist youth to adjust to new situations, give encouragement and care about each participant as an individual.

Provide opportunities for participants to learn and practice leadership skills, decision-making, and teamwork through group activities

Foster the development of the positive relationship between your and adults, who serve as positive role models, teachers, coaches, and mentors

additional responsibilities

Adult volunteers may be asked to assume additional responsibilities during the course of the Holiday program which s/he may accept or decline

All volunteers receive one free t-shirt from Volunteer Programs Manager, once they have completed their recruitment process and have been accepted to the program. If a volunteer wants a second t-shirt, this one can be obtained from the Hall store for a $10 fee.

  • Completed paperwork and pass background checks/ Police clearance / reference checks
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with other staff in handling a variety of situation.
  • Possess the desire and ability to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds, especially youth 8-21 years of age.
  • Possess a flexible and adaptable attitude with a good sense of humor, understanding, and enjoyment of young people.

No, but a per holiday program stipend may be provided on a limited basis when available.

No experience is required.

We ask our volunteers to commit to a minimum of 4 hours if that will be assisting in the classroom

Applicants will receive a final decision notification if they have been selected to work as a volunteer at Tekqubes. Due to the number of applicants, we cannot give individualized feedback on applications.
